ONE-EYED REBEL - THE MAKERS OF MANCHESTER GIN LAUNCH A NEW RUM

28 April 2021 by Deanna Thomas

The Spirit of Manchester Distillery, who are behind the internationally award-winning Manchester Gin and Manchester Spirit Vodka, has now released its very first rum - One-Eyed Rebel.

And even though it has only recently been launched, it’s already proving its worth, picking up a gold award at the Spirits Masters, Rum Masters 2021 (in the spiced rum category).

One-Eyed Rebel is a bold, spiced rum with fiery ginger spice and rich cassia which will add a touch of intrigue to any good at-home bar.

The bottle’s stand-out design features eclectic colours and features unique patterns inspired by bone inlaid furniture. A unique brass belly band (inspired by old rum barrels) cuts across the mysterious piratical pirate protagonist – the brains behind the black-bearded brawn.

Spirit of Manchester Master Distiller Seb Heeley said; “We’ve always loved rum; it’s our second favourite spirit and we’ve been working non-stop for the last year to use everything we’ve learnt in gin distillation to create the perfect spiced rum.

“With Manchester Gin, we’ve gone on a real journey, experimenting with how to get the most out of flavours. We’re so proud to be releasing our British Botanical Rum, distilled and crafted in our distillery in the heart of Manchester.”

The Spirit of Manchester Distillery lies in the arches on Watson Street by Manchester Central with the shiny copper stills on full view from the adjoining arches which house a beautiful bar and restaurant, Three Little Words. When restrictions allow, guests can book a distillery tour and gin-making experience to create a unique take-home bottle to their own recipe (£85 pp book here).

One-Eyed Rebel is a premium spiced rum available direct from The Spirit of Manchester Distillery and retail nationwide, One-Eyed Rebel, 70cl has an SRP of £28 and is 40%ABV.

Rum fans can sign up at oneeyedrebel.co.uk to get their hands on the first batch.
