Salvi’s, the family-run Italian restaurant group recently announced the launch of its new Italian food hub which is to open at Deansgate Square’s luxury development in the new year. But while work on the new site commences, they’re keen to bring a little sparkle to the area in the form of a new Italian Christmas market.
Visitors can expect the very best in authentic Italian food and drink in a pop up winter village made from two-tipi hub, four festive huts and a cosy fire-pit with complimentary blankets. There will be DJs, live music and live entertainment creating a family friendly festive atmosphere, along with Christmas gifts, hampers, cooking workshops and kids’ events.
Salvi’s will be bringing sweet and savoury versions of its very special street food delicacy soffietti,and Italian beverage heavyweights Campariand Peroniwillhave their very own bars within the hub.
The Aperol and Campari bar will be offering the Hot Mulled Negroni (£8), a Christmas combination of Campari, red wine, sweet vermouth, gin, cinnamon, nutmeg and orange, plus the Italian mulled wine Vin Brule (£6)to warm those cockles on the coldest of days.
They have also devised a whole wintry negroni selection including the Fig Negroni, the Hazelnut Negroni, and the Negroni Sbagliato(all £8) with Campari, sweet vermouth and Prosecco.
There’ll be Campari G&T and Aperol Spritz together with Crodino, Chinotto, Cedrata and a selection of spirits , as wellhouse wines, Prosecco, Limoncello and all the soft drinks you’ll need. The other tipi bar will be fully stocked with Peroni on draft (£4.50), as well as the alcohol free Peroni Libre (£4).
On selected nights of the week, Scran-ta Claus will be coming to town and the bar will be hosting a free-to-enter ‘Peroni and Pizza’ evening with live music and entertainment.
One of the four festive huts will be a Grotto of Salvi’s producefor the duration of the market, offering beautiful gift hampers, panettone cakes, oils, pasta, aprons, pasta sauces, cheese, salamis and limoncello. The remaining two huts will be home to different vendors and offerings each week from 27th Nov - 22nd Dec.
Throughout the run there will be live music every Thursday and Sunday, DJs every Friday and Sunday, lots of events with music and entertainment, interactive workshops including panettone and tiramisu making, as well as a variety of kids classes that will be announced very soon so keep your eyes on Salvi's' social channels for updates.
Over the weekends Pop-Up Clubwill host an indoor makers market selling independent brands' gifts and homeware.

Salvi’s upcoming Italian food hub will open in the new year in a 3,000 sq ft unit within Deansgate Square’s flagship scheme. A weather protected and heated terrace will provide year-round outdoor and indoor dining. Read more HERE.
