This week, as Covid restrictions allow restaurants to serve customers in outdoor areas, Italian favourite San Carlo has opened a new Italian garden dining experience, Il Giardinio di Aprile (The Garden of April) at San Carlo Fiorentina, Hale Barns.
As guests step into the covered, all-weather, open air dining terrace, they will find themselves in a magical landscaped space, reminiscent of romantic garden terrace restaurants on the Amalfi coast. Although patio heaters are dotted throughout the covered garden, diners are encouraged to wrap up warm as part of their alfresco experience.
The stunning Italian garden has been decked out with verdant foliage, a magnolia tree in full bloom, ornamental statues and terracotta planters full of colourful spring flowers. Elegant (suitably spaced) tables are covered with white linens and table lamps.
Guests who have missed their usual San Carlo menu favourites now have a new space to enjoy signature dishes such a tagliolini lobster, or spaghetti frutti di mari – a huge sharing pasta dish (remember those?) with clams, mussels, prawns, garlic and tomato and salt baked sea bass. There will also be with steaks, colourful salads, pasta (including gluten free options) and pizza see the menu here. All the usual San Carlo cocktails, wines and fizz will be available, served to your table.
San Carlo Restaurants managing director, Marcello Distefano, said: “After such a difficult year, we wanted to create a true escape for people, we want them to feel like they’ve been transported to somewhere very special, somewhere that’s out of reach to us right now. We hope people will love it as much as we do.”
Open from 12 ‘til late seven days a week, the Garden of April brings a touch of Italian magic to Cheshire. The garden menu will also be available to takeaway and to order on Deliveroo from 12th April.
