WAHU FOOD BAR COMES TO MANCHESTER

1 July 2014

Manchester’s most talked about new food bar, Wahu, has opened its doors on The Avenue in Spinningfields, offering fresh food served fast to those who live and work in the city centre.

Wahu focuses on providing the highest quality fresh food, including chicken, beef, lamb, salmon and halloumi, all prepared to order on the restaurant’s grill and then added to a base of either salad, white or brown rice, whole-wheat pasta or a wrap.

Providing breakfast, lunch and dinner options seven days a week, the new eatery offers a wide range of food that is healthy, satisfying and full of flavour, with the choice to dine in or take out.

Wahu is also a great place for people who want to meet friends and colleagues, relax and enjoy a drink, boasting an extensive selection of hot and cold beverages, including high quality teas and coffees, 100 per cent fruit juices and smoothies. Wahu is also fully licensed, with a comprehensive menu of alcoholic drinks including low carb, low sugar beer and low calorie prosecco.

To ensure the dine in experience is as fresh as the food offering, Carroll Design, the award winning team behind San Carlo, was enlisted to design the 98 seated capacity eatery. Featuring comfy sofas, a living foliage wall and an extensive outdoor area, the décor is urban with a vibrant twist, making it a relaxed choice for any time of the day.

Wahu was opened by young entrepreneur, Jamie Barr, after he noticed a gap in the market for healthy food, on the go.

Jamie Barr said: “After leaving university I was busy working, socialising and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but the restaurant options in Manchester city centre didn’t cater for this.

“Whether it is catching up with friends, working late, going to the gym or attending networking events, there is always something to keep young professionals busy – I wanted to create something that fitted into this lifestyle, while still being a healthy choice.

“Wahu is a unique concept for Manchester and I am looking forward to welcoming all the new customers through the doors now that we’re open.”

Opening times: 7am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 11pm on Friday, 10am to 11pm on Saturday and 10am to 8pm on Sunday.
