17 November 2021 by Deanna Thomas

The team behind General Stores (Deansgate Square/Media City/Ancoats/Moss Side/Castlefield/Salford), Stretford Foodhall, the new Sale Foodhall, and the online delivery platform A Convenient Store have really got into the Christmas spirit this year.

Not only have they developed a programme of fun family events and collaborations, but they’ve made sure Mancunians are absolutely covered for all Festive essentials; from locally reared turkeys to cheese and wine – they’ll even deliver your Christmas tree!

CHRISTMAS EVENTS AT FOODHALLS

Store Group have teamed up with some of their most fabulous independent partners to offer Christmas Workshops and events in store from Tuesday November 30th, including wreath making, a Christmas-themed quiz, and a family-friendly pizza making workshop.

What: Learn how to make the perfect bespoke Christmas wreath to adorn your front door, complement your Christmas decorations, or even gift to a loved one, with independent Stretford florist, Flower Candy. Pick from a range of festive accessories, berries, dried flowers, dried fruit, and sparkly branches to make a unique Christmas wreath.

When and where? Flower Candy’s wreath making event takes place on Tuesday 30th November at Sale Foodhall and Tuesday 7th December at Stretford Foodhall, at 6:30pm. Spaces are limited to just 10 people.

How much? £49pp including a glass of bubbles (or soft alternative) Tickets can be booked in store.

What? A Christmassy quiz, hosted by legendary quizmaster, Bossy Durkin. Those who think they deserve the crown as the Christmas quiz champion should gather up to five friends to form the ultimate team to claim the prized title.

When and where? Thursday 2nd December from 7pm at Sale Foodhall

How much? At just £1 entry per person, contestants could win fantastic festive prizes including a £50 bar tab, a bottle of bubbles for second place, or a host of booby prizes if your team is a runner up.

What? A pizza making workshop delivered by authentic and artisan Italian pizza-ologists, Basilico. Kids will learn all they, er, knead to know about the ingredients that make up a pizza, enjoy experimenting with dough, before sprinkling their chosen toppings, ready for devouring.
