Gooey is a cookie and donut bakery currently based in Ducie Street Warehouse just behind Manchester’s Piccadilly Train Station. They started selling their indulgent bakes from a little glass box at the entrance to Ducie Street Warehouse and soon attracted queues of sweet toothed instagrammers.
There’s now a second city centre Gooey kiosk at Hatch on Oxford Road (read more about that here) and they will deliver locally Thurs-Sunday – they even offer combo boxes if you can’t make your mind up between cookies or doughnuts.
All Gooey’s bakes are handmade daily and the cookies will last up to three days. Oozing, soft New York style cookies come in double choc, milk, white or dark choc and red velvet with menu specials posted on Instagram.
Gooey’s fluffy brioche doughnuts are best eaten right away (that’s a perfect excuse). They don’t shy away from the classic flavours such as raspberry jam, vanilla custard, and chocolate ganache, but you’ll also find some incredibly indulgent weekly specials such as kinderella donut - brioche donut filled with hazelnut crème or cherry crumble cookie.
Don’t leave it too late in the day as they more than often sell out before closing time.
Collections are available from 12pm to 5pm Thursday to Sunday from the Gooey kiosk in Ducie Street.
Gooey’s Hatch shop is an outward facing unit with direct and easy access from Oxford Road. Gooey’s outrageously instagrammable, decadent and inventive products, including soft serve ice cream, are dished out from Wednesday - Sunday 12pm-6pm as takeaway or can be enjoyed on site at Hatch.
